STATIX's Good Snacks

I know its soooo asian. As a kid I used to die for these chips back in the Philippines. Here it cost under $1.50 at the local asian market, where at 711 Doritos and Onion Rings cost 5 to 6 bucks. I got these for snacks while getting busy in my music station. It ain't healthy tho, it has high sodium. What I should be having is some baby carrots and celeries. I do get them apples and tomatoes straight from the backyard, and just place them on my desks - I might need a fruit basket but that would look too damn gay man.

Storage

First of all I am not superstitious, I believe in facts and scientific reasons for most things. Do I believe in God? Sure I do. I actually grew up in a strong Catholic background and baptized as a born again Christian. I wouldn't say I am a backslider either, I just keep it real and be a human being. Hoping I am excepted the way I am created. There were points in my life questioning my faith but then later down the road, it makes a lot of sense. Not just Christian wise but what I learned from other beliefs and philosophies. Now, what in the hell is this has to do with storage? Well, a few things. Maybe more. But things are somehow working on it's own as if something is arranging things around. Some I thought it's not going the way I want it. But then, I paused about what I want and think outside of my own box, and realized it's actually better. Not just for me but everyone.

01_microxlist.jpg
Few days back, right before I was almost done listing all my favorite patches of drum kits, vocals, modulations, drum patterns, and etc., from my Micro-X synthesizer. I planned to buy a binder and some plastic covers for the prints. Took me awhile to list the best once because there were over a thousand patches, and not only that, I listened to every each of them. I actually experiment and jam to almost every each patches, both straight from the keys and the knobs, and hooking it to my MPC midis. My feet were even sore standing in front of the keyboard from jamming. Anyway, about the plastic cover sheets, I went to Walgreens to buy some but they only had binders and not the plastic sheet covers. So I went to the storage room in the backyard and look for some. I used to collect a bunch of graphics from magazines, rip the pages off, and place them in plastic sheet covers all clipped up in binders. I used them for a reference doing graphic arts or getting ideas from. Some were old so I threw them away and use what is needed.

02_recipe_02
As I was looking through the binders, I also found this Recipe Binder which I was planning in keeping it handy. I've been obsessed writing recipes lately. It could be a survival mode thing.

03_black&decker_02
And I also found this Black & Decker Booklet.

04_twilight2000_02
I even forgot I had this. I don't play this. But I did kept it for a reference in making characters, perhaps for the video gaming industry. I didn't really had the time to work on that portfolio then. But now I'm gonna keep this handy as well.

05_comic01_02
Old comic strips I was working on back in 1996 but never finished. I was trying to get that same essence of Frank Miller's style for his Comic or Graphic Novel "Sin City".

06_comic02_02
Here's another page. I probably wouldn't work on a Comic or Graphic Novel down the road. Maybe some illustrations using a Digital Sketch Pad, which is much cleaner for me to work on later. Right now there are way too much shit to be focused on to that.

07_storage_02
Specially now, for economic advantages, my little bro (Venus) and his lady Elsie are moving back to the house. Venus has some expensive fancy looking appliances and the dude rented a storage room for them. And I know we had to get rid of few things from the house in order to make room for their things. There are few things in the backyard I can live without, like the backyard gym - for now I rather go biking around the hood and do push ups in my room. And few things I can live without in the storage like my old macintosh, now collectible item. But really I just wanted to use the old macintosh to write stories and journals with no worries of being hacked or spied on while working on them. Beside we might need some of them fancy appliances in the backyard for cutting meat or for oysters and beers. The other two roommates moved near by The Great Mall where they work.

08_playground_02
It's not a toy, as playful like this playground here, right in front of Venus' and Elsie's apartment. I kept some of my things for later needs. Like my art supplies, specially my easel maaan. I might need that when I'm like 80 years old for painting a nude lady. Actually, you never know when you need some of the things you stored in the closets. You never know when little kids pop out of no where and you had to pass on what my little sister and bro had when they were little. It's just me, I know what it's like having less. In the other hand, since there just there, mind as well sell them or donate them to who ever needs them more than we do at the moment. I tend to like my area clean too, but then I also know about preservation.

09_venuselsieapartment_02
This here is their apartment. I say they can save more staying at the house if they want to get a bigger house later. Daamn man, it's gonna be some work again trying to separate my own things from the storage. I don't have a lot. I'm just concerned where to place my own things.

10_curry goat_02
All these things going on, specially since the place I applied as a mobile patrol man haven't called yet, makes me wanna cook something. Here is what I recently cooked - It's Curry Goat. Perhaps I have better chances elsewhere as a security guard aside being a mobile patrol man anyway.

The Ingredients:

*Around 8 pounds - Goat Ribs / Back Bones / Some Meat (remove the fat)
*1/8 Cup - Curry Powder
*2 Tsp - Ground Pepper
*10 Cloves - Garlic (minced)
*1 Whole - Onions (diced)
*10 Thin - Carrots (chopped unto 3)
*6 - Bay Leafs
*1 Can - Coconut Milk
*6 Glass - Water (or more, eyeball it)
*5 - Ripe Tomatoes
*1/8 Cup - Fish Sauce (or go for the taste)
*1 Tbsp - Oil

Procedures:

Cut the meat and bones - remove the fat - use a mallet to hammer the meat cleaver to cut through bones. Minced the garlic, cubed the onions - drop that to the cooking pot with a little bit of oil. Add in the meat, a little bit of ground pepper, and bay leafs - let it fry a little, place the lid. Add in some fish sauce, and curry powder. Wait for that to cook a little bit, and then add in coconut milk and water. Make sure to add lots of water to make the meat soft - takes about an hour and a half till the meat are soft and tender - and then add in the carrots and tomatoes. When the carrots are soft - it's done.

I heard it's more Caribbean or Jamaican if it has more water, and Arabic or East Indian if it was thicker...

Butchery - Goat Meat

I bet you wanted to say shut the hell up! geeeeez... But I just wanna document how I'm gonna process the meat. Plus this is how food are processed behind the tasty stuff. Recently, I was also had been writing notes on how to butcher your own meat, as well as hunting wild game goes. I have this idea what if I be stranded in the wilderness, maan at-least I know some basic hunting strategies, not only that but how to cut them up. So I put my self on a little test, and it was perfect timing that my little bro's coworker happened to have relatives or owned a ranch back at Stockton. Not bad for a medium size goat for 150 bucks. The goat meat were dropped off from the ranch to his coworker's mother's house, and we just picked it up from there. Always a good bargain at the ranch, specially if you cut your own meat. This one in particular were already had been cut unto 5 pieces. I ain't tryin' to dis any butchering companies, in fact I would probably even wanna work to a supermarket as a butcher (I heard they get payed pretty good) but since I do music, and other crafty stuff, I'm a little too cautious with my hands.

Here is what my bro and I picked up at the house.

So far it looks like a crime scene. Gross right?

Now I gotta re-cut them up for storing and for cooking. Here are my cutting tools. A meat saw is also important. Make sure they are sanitized before using. As well as the sink. The backyard sink is pretty handy when it comes of doing something like this instead of the garage or in the indoor kitchen. Since it's in the backyard, you gotta use a cooler with some ice to keep it fresh and to keep them flies away.

The chopping board, also had been sanitized.

A chain mail glove for my left hand. I cut with my right hand.

There are two of this. The upper area: arms and rib cages.

There are two of this also. The hind area: legs and stomach area.

And then only one of this. The head. Which makes it the total of 5 parts.

The washing and cutting is done, and they all fit in the cooler with ice.

Now the cooler is in the kitchen. Waiting for the old man and my bro for what they want to do next.

Here is my Bro and Elsie cutting them up unto pieces. They were preparing it for Papaetan (bile stew).

And me cutting the roasted goat meat called Kilawen. It's meat, skin, and liver. You can even add in the tongue. First it was marinaded with ground pepper and soy sauce. Roast it in the oven. When it's cooked, chop it up into small pieces like Carne Asada. Mixed in some minced ginger, onions, garlic, and chili peppers or jalepenos. The last thing to mixed in are vinegar. The real Kilawen is raw, pickled with vinegar. But I prefer the texture more like Carne Asada.

After all this, working from a food plant you learn that it's important to sanitized the tools and sink before and after - even after using some soap. I don't know if this is strong enough, but I use lysol disinfectant spray.

Earthships - Biotecture

Michael Reynolds is an Architect from the 70's who evolved building from recyclable items unto a self sustainable home called Earthships. He created the alternative word Biotecture to describe: "The profession of designing buildings and environments with consideration for their sustainability. A combination of biology and architecture." The houses he built are out of a Star Wars movie, except it's an actual breathing organic home as well as technological. It is a building that will take care of you in every way: food (year round green house), electricity, heating, water, air and sewage disposal.

It was shown earlier on the Travel Channel today. Utility bills cost only $200 a year or to none. Buying an earthship cost a lot though man, around half a million. They do have an alternative deal for $10,000 down payment. Other than the cost, there is a progress here, as far of saving the planet from global warming. Michael Reynolds has a movie out titled Garbage Warrior, he also has some books out, and has a community in New Mexico where he makes earthships and sells it. There are houses like these in Mexico too and Philippines (mud houses). Except they have no solar systems and clean recycable water system.

Tin cans, bottles, and tires were used as bricks for the earthship's foundations. If I have one, I'll probably add an animal farm too, like: goats, pigs, chickens, cows, and even lamas. The only downside of having animal farm is the bad smell. Like cow farts. And of course the medicines and food supplies for them farm animals.

Here is their website: www.earthships.net

Taepodong Missiles Project

There was another North Korean long range missile test-fire called Taepodong-2 back in 2006 but it failed. The recent rocket lift-off was from Sunday at 11:30 am (Eastern Time). The South Korean Newspaper says that the lift-off was a success. Other says it was another failure. If it was a real Nuclear Missile, it could reach up to 4700 miles from North Korea to Hawaii and Alaska. Possibly even in California. Maaan if Osama or a country that hates America with already developing Nuclear Weapons gets a hold to this project, North Korea would be a rich country until that same project backlashes. Communism and Islamist clashes too. But money do talk, my brother says right before our Sunday dinner. And it does makes a lot of sense. In the other hand, I don't think North Korea is dumb enough to do so. Remember the war between Russia and Afghanistan? I don't think these two will negotiate business on how to blow up the world. To me, the rocket would be more of an extortion situation. President Obama is now making peace to other countries soon as possible. Making our allies closer than before. Like France and India. Iraq in my belief is already an American Territory. A Capitalist owned, rooted from the Bush Administration. Obama is just cleaning up the mess where Bush left off. Iran might be on the counteroffensive mode for that reason.

FULL ARTICLE

I guess make friends with North Korea already? Although the land has nothing much to offer. Capitalism just doesn't work well with Socialism. Except for the Chinese style Special Economic Zones, a movement towards Capitalism. Could that also be part of the Taepodong Missiles Project. If it is, then it is a threat.

My Saturday's Finest

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
As ghetto as it may seemed. Sardines are very tasty. Sometimes I do get tempted to get a burger. But rather save it for something else. Perhaps for hiking later, or a movie, soon as I am done with these current projects.

I'm also waiting for an update about the imminent missile launch from North Korea. Supposedly, the launch starts today till the 8th of this month. What if it's really a long range test-fire, other than a satellite. The satellite could also be a device to pin point targets. Kim Jong-il recently had a stroke. What is Kim Jong-il's last goal before he's gone.

Copy Cat - Jiverly Voong

What 42-year-old Jiverly Voong did is most likely a copy cat of what Seung-Hui Cho did at Virginia Tech. Mr. Voong also used two handguns and lots of ammunitions. The building he chose to carry out his fury was an area he was familiar with. He knew there are only two doors which is the front and the back. He used his truck to block the back door and the front as the main entrance to start the slaughtering. The same method of what Seung-Hui Cho did by chaining the doors back at Virginia Tech. Mr. Voong might of felt like the Immigration Center failed him to improve his English Skills. A perfect spot for him to prove his point. Plus the numbers of people in the building that didn't know how to speak English for help. Maaan, the only person that called 911 is the receptionist who was shot in the abdomen. Possibly the only few people in the building that spoke any English for sure.

Aside that, based from what I read, rumors says that Mr. Voong was a hardcore hater.

Now I am really thinkin' of arming myself if I get a Security Job. I'm pretty sure someone else are going to try to top this one up. The dude had a bullet proof vest. Obviously he was expecting security guards being in the Immigration Center. Next thing you know maniacs are gonna be using grenades.

Legalized Marijuana Issue

In the future perhaps Marijuana are going to be legalized just like how alcohol and tobacco are legal today. Remember the Al Capone Era in the 1930's when there were many mobster killings just like Mexico today. Actually there was another Mexico Drug Cartel Wars back in the 80's. Except the drug wars was in Columbia, between Cartel Kingpin Pablo Escobar and the Los Pepes as well as Americans. Los Pepes were known as an underground short lived vigilante groups who executed anyone who works or related to Pablo Escobar. From what I read and research, rumors says that the Los Pepes were funded by rival cartels known as the Cali Cartel. These rivals also has ties to the Columbian Government, and the real intentions was to take over the cocaine industry of Columbia and make an underground corporate relation with the US. But the DEA had an eye on it more ever since. My point is, Marijuana might become legal anytime soon. And it will be treated with the same laws like alcohol and tobacco. You gotta be 21 to get it. You can't drive vehicles or be at a public area if smoking it. There will probably be signs for Chronic Smoker Area Only. Or some sort of a Hookah Lounges that serves Marijuana. Maybe they'll even have some sort of a sober pills. As you go out in public coming from the Lounge, the Lounge first offers you a sober pills or some kind.

In my opinion, soon as they have them cars that drives itself automatically, and the existence of robotic maids, Marijuana will probably be legal then here in the US. Consequently, legalizing Marijuana is also a gateway for other kinds of narcotics. Bad drugs like Opium, Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Ecstasy. That wouldn't be good. Unless there will be more jobs in the Medical Field for that issue. Hardcore junkies wouldn't be afraid and hiding their addictions anymore, they can easily go to a hospital legally and get treated. The media just have to show more TV Ads on how drugs kills. Just like the TV Ads today against tobacco companies. Don't take my sarcasm twisted now. But again, you just never know.

Getting in Shape

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Doing light exercises. I've been telling myself to dedicate more to it but sometimes stress gets in the way. So little by little for now, I'll do something more advance later on. I know all kinds about nutritional food but I'm not en-charge of the kitchen at the moment. But I do get lucky on them Fish Soups with Veggies once in awhile.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Another thing is, me trying to get fit for a certain position. I might go for these courses here. What I want is a baton training, since I am a bit familiar with Arnis. Perhaps later. Little by little.

Lately there's this Red Alert about Peanut Butter. I ain't gonna buy any buttered peanuts for now. No Kare-Kare for those Filipinos unless you know how to make your own peanut butter. It's about Salmonella. Isn't that in cows too?

Salmonella in a Microscope

I'll blog about Growth Hormones in cows later. Because if you eat cow meat, most likely you and your family could also be eating the same Growth Hormone. Like I do. American 10 year old kids lookin' like 20 year old men from China and I meant that as a complement to my Chinese causins. They do that in chickens too. Chicks lookin' like Hens. And plants - Like mixing water-mellon genes to strawberries, so strawberries are the size of an apple. Organic Food should be cheaper and save money from making Frankenstein Food. Organic Food are more expensive because they are grown naturally without any Growth Hormones. This method isn't new though, farmers had been putting fertilizers to their crops for many many years. I notice places like Morocco or Vietnam where they also eat lots of meat - but they are not as obese. And most of them lives a long time. Maybe because they don't use Growth Hormones in their food. I'm down if there are jobs for Organic Plantation Farms. As long as they pay enough.

To know more about "Salmonellas", check this blog out: Salmonella Blog

I recently seen this quick news from CNN, careful not to wear them scarf inside a Car Wash. Like this lady did.

Woman nearly strangled In car wash accident. Customer saves car wash worker when scarf gets caught.

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. -- A Massachusetts car wash worker is battered and bruised but thankful to be alive after her scarf got caught in machinery at her job last weekend. A customer leaped to her aid and saved her life, reported WCVB-TV in Boston. FULL STORY.

Murder Suicide - Lupoe Family

Once I place all my stuff together in my room, I turned on my television just to check if I got all them connection working properly and then I see this. It's about this one dude that have a big house from Southern California that recently killed his wife and kids, and then himself. They were both layed off from their hospital jobs. They faxed a suicide note to their local news station. Based from what I gathered from the news, there are evidence that the Lupoe couple were a bit delusional, perhaps even unfit to take care for their kids. Which could be the cause on loosing their jobs. The paranoia of handing their kids away in someone else's hand was the big reason of what triggered them to commit the murder suicide.

Iceland Government Collapses

I ain't sure if it was Iceland or Denmark that students doesn't have to pay loans to go to collage because their government pay their students to go to college. And maaan, I thought they'll never gonna have problems towards their governments because of that. Tough times around the world. Even in Iceland. A place I never thought of even having a government.

Read more about it on euronews.

Now I am questioning if we are not far behind them. And what in the hell happened? In my best opinion to catch up in times like this is to lay low on luxuries for now, and get with them close relatives or friends that your closed with under one roof. Speaking of humbleness, It's becoming like Philippines where they ridicule people that are too high in luxuries because the economy was too corrupted for long time. It's true! The only difference to some folks in the Philippines is their religious morality although life can be really difficult. There are areas in the Philippines though that are more laid back if your the type of person that likes things really simple. The only catch is lack of securities, and chances are militant groups will offer you with their own versions of better hopes. Philippines was about to pick up a bit and then came the Intel mass layoffs. One thing though, if I have some big money saved right now? I'll probably spent it to buy cheap houses. Sell your big house, buy small house, rent a small room and get that cheap house rented out when the economy picked up a bit. Yeah? Maybe? No? I don't know, Im no relator and I don't even know if that would even work.

Done Repainting

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Repainting the house is done. Same paint colors on most of the walls using off white. At first the kitchen area had some funky looking orange color but my father says that it will bring some life to the kitchen. He also says "It is very artistic concept." We freaked out because we thought he was gonna paint the whole house orange. We change the colors to dark reddish brown afterwards for the divider that separates the kitchen from the TV room - more like a red oak to match some of the furniture, and yellow green for the kitchen walls.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
That's my father painting the living room. I painted most of the hard to reach corner areas.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
This is the room we are getting rented out. Also been painted down with new curtains and everything. Boombox, Alarm Clock, CD Rack, Dresser, and the Lamp are included. The television is optional but also included. The bed frame is already out because we expect the renter to have their own.
